A large genus from Southern Africa that is concentrated in the southwestern Cape
Province.  They are winter growing plants that are dormant in summer and require a
dry summer rest.  They perform well in deep pots and also make a wonderful
addition to the garden in suitable climates with neat clumping growth and pleated
leaves.
