]]> Tropaeolums are best known to gardeners as brightly colored annuals called Nasturtiums (Tropaeolum major) that twine and trail to fill our gardens with color.  It is not so well-known that there are
perennial Tropaeolum species that are small, rather delicate climbing vines that grow from a tuberous rootstock.  All Tropaeolums are native to Central and South America, the ones listed here being native to dry regions of Chile and Argentina.  Many of the tuberous-rooted Tropaeolums are not easy to grow, and need patience and experience to succeed.
