This is a large genus of well over 100 species, the majority of which are from the Cape Province of South Africa. The flowers
are extremely variable, covering the entire palette including green. Their relationship to Hyacinths is obvious, since their flowers are in a spike-like arrangement, tubular or urn-shaped, and often scented. All are winter-growing tender plants, and are well suited for greenhouse culture. Zone 8-10. SHIPS AUGUST-OCTOBER
