How to Order
The MINIMUM ORDER SIZE for the USA is $35.00.
In addition, there is a flat $25.00 shipping and handling charge anywhere in the USA regardless of order size for shipping by USPS Priority Mail. We do not ship UPS or Fed-Ex. For winter shipment (November through March) heat packs are provided for shipments east of the Rockies at a charge of $5 each. California residents must add 8.00% sales tax to the “Sub Amount”.
Orders can be received by post and should be sent to: Telos Rare Bulbs, P.O. Box 1067, Ferndale, CA 95536, USA. E-mail orders can be sent to: telosrarebulbs@suddenlink.net. E-mail orders are not processed without payment.
We can only accept personal checks denominated in US currency (drawn on a US bank) or a postal money order, also in US currency. If ordering by mail or by e-mail, payment must be received before the order can be sent. Checks should be made payable to “Telos Rare Bulbs“. We no longer accept credit card payments. We accept payments by PayPal. Paypal payments should be sent to: rarebulbs@suddenlink.net
Order Early !
Quantities of some of our rare species are very limited. To avoid disappointment, be sure to order early. Orders are generally filled in the order received.
Substitutions
If we are sold out of the bulbs you have selected, we will not automatically substitute unless you have indicated on your order that substitutions are acceptable. If substitutions are made, they will be of similar species always of higher value. If you indicate that you do not want substitutions, a refund will be made.
Shipping Season
Membersof the Family Amaryllidaceae can be shipped year round. Dormant bulb shipping will begin in late July, and goes through October for most species. Summer-dormant bulbs are shipped from late July to late October, winter-dormant bulbs are shipped October to December, and are marked in the catalogue “Late Shipment”. You may, therefore, receive two separate shipments.
When Will You Receive Your Bulbs?
Orders are shipped in the order received. If you need your bulbs by a specific date, we will try to accommodate you. Shipping for
dormant bulbs starts some time in July, but the exact date depends upon the harvesting of the dormant bulbs. We do not broker bulbs, so all your bulbs are being harvested by us at Telos, and weather conditions or other factors can delay harvest on some species. We are, therefore, unable to give specific ship dates on orders, and do not have the staff during the busy shipping season to answer inquiries as to the status of orders.
International Orders - How to Order
Your list should be e-mailed to: telosrarebulbs@suddenlink.net.. The address of the recipient should also be included, and any special requirements that your country has. Please note that in the catalogue there are some species that are not available for export. Do not, at this time, send payment. You will be notified when to send payment after your order has been inspected and weighed to determine the shipping costs.
Payment must be by Paypal.
All packages are insured. If you received a damaged shipment, you must return the shipment to your own postal authorities and initiate a claim. Simply stating that the bulbs are damaged will not be sufficient to receive a refund.
We can ship to any country that does not restrict the importation of bulbs.
Before placing an international order, please check with your own agricultural authorities for your country’s specific requirements and restrictions. We comply strictly with those requirements – no exceptions can be made! It is the recipient’s responsibility to supply Telos with a list of requirements from your own agricultural agencies. Please don’t ask us to look into this, we are not able to do so. If your country requires an import permit, you must supply us with that documentation. PLEASE NOTE!!!! IF WE SHIP AN ORDER, AND IT IS REFUSED BY YOUR CUSTOMS AGENTS OR AGRICULTURAL AGENTS BECAUSE WE WERE NOT INFORMED BY YOU OF THE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR IMPORTATION OF BULBS BY YOUR COUNTRY, NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED.. Refunds are not given if a customer refuses to pay import duties. Bulbs are perishable and cannot be returned for refunds.
We are unable to ship to Australia or New Zealand, Spain, Italy, Portugal and France, and cannot pre-treat our bulbs with chemicals or fumigation to comply with the regulations of some countries.
All bulbs that are exported must be specially cleaned to remove every particle of soil or growing medium. This incurs a special fee (see below). Since members of the family Amaryllidaceae are shipped with their roots on, a higher fee would be charged than for bulbs that are dormant, such as Gladiolus or Oxalis.
All international orders must have a phytosanitary certificate. We will not ship bulbs without the necessary certification, nor will we alter the value of the bulb shipment. We comply strictly with the law. Falsifying records or shipping without a phytosanitary certificate would be placing our nursery at considerable risk. Packages are sent with the invoice and the phytosanitary certificate pasted to the outside of the box.
