The Fritillaries native to the Western U.S. are greatly sought after by those who have a
specialized interest in this genus, since they include some of the most colorful and desirable of all
Fritillaria species. Closely related to lilies, they are, however, exacting in their requirements, and
many need an experienced hand to succeed in cultivation. All the Fritillaries native to the West
need a dry summer rest.
